pop typography - I STUDIO

























  1. i used the rectangle tool and enlarged it to cover all the paper
  2. i put no stroke and filled it in black
  3. clicked the type tool
  4. typed I STUDIO and changed it to white
  5. enlarge it
  6. clicked "character"
  7. put all caps 
  8. change the font to "impact"
  9. go to object then click expand
  10. check if the object and the fill is ticked.. if so then just click OK
  11. use the pen tool and put lines across each letter in different ways as you like
  12. don't forget to put fill as none and the stroke as black
  13. after you're done... go to object and ungroup the letters
  14. remove the pieces unwanted 
  15. then click the piece you want and if you want a piece of each letter with the same colour 
  16. click one piece of a  then click shift and click other pieces
  17. change colour
  18. change the background

trace


  1. i chose an image
  2. i traced it 
  3. i coloured it in

Using the Type Tool and more. (20/10/16)


  1. select the type tool.
  2. use the control panel to alter the font and the size of the text.
  3. use the area tool which allows you to place the text inside of any shape.
  4. draw a path with any equipment to be able to use the "type on a path tool" first.
  5.  use the line segment tool to draw a path.
  6. select the vertical type tool to be able to text on the line.

  1. chose urban art
  2. look at examples 
  3. select the type tool
  4. use the gradient
  5. use the control panel to change the font
  6. select the white arrow 
  7. organise the pieces of shapes.

shapes


  1. use different shapes e.g. circles, rectangles etc.
  2. expand it
  3. use gradient to colour in
  4. use all the tools that are related to the width tool

pathfinder


  1. Open adobe illustrator - new 
  2. use ellipse tool to make a shape
  3. increase the "stroke"
  4. go to window and press "pathfinder"
  5. select all of the shapes 
  6. then use the pathfinder- expand

IMAGE TRACE

  1. open Adobe Illustrator
  2. file-new
  3. place image to trace
  4. image trace panel from window menu
  5. preview
  6. experiment with slider
  7. turn off preview 
  8. expand in ption panel
  9. live paint object (option + command + X keys)
  10. press letter K for life paint bucket (drop colour)
